THE 1ST HIGH SCHOOL

Today's Town Hall is originally where the 1st High School of Nafplion was located and can be found in the Trion Navarchion Square meaning the  Three Admirals Square.
Being originally built for this purpose under King Otto's regime in the mid 1800's, it was only one of two buildings in Greece that were built specifically for the usage as a school.
In 1935 the building was abandoned when the school was moved over the road to a much larger, brighter and more modern building which is still in use today.
During the next few decades as many other period buildings the 1st High School was used as a number of things and today is used to house the Town Hall.
